Heat recovery systems
in Sussex

A heat recovery system is designed to completely change all the air in a property at least once every 2 hours, continually replacing the stale damp air with fresh, warm, clean, filtered air.

It extracts humid air containing toxins and smells from bathrooms, toilets and kitchens.

During warmer summer conditions a by-pass can be used when heat recovery is not required. This will increase air flow and give a cooling effect on hot days.

Compact eco-ventilation systems
in London

The smaller units can be installed within a standard 600mm kitchen cupboard or in
loft areas.

The ductwork used can be as little as 75mm outside diameter and has smooth bore, low-friction internal walls. There is a choice of both floor and ceiling grilles either circular or rectangular. The systems are generally run on a trickle speed during the day and night which is virtually silent, and can be boosted at busy household times.

Principles of energy-saving systems

The heat exchanger within the unit consists of layers of heat-retaining materials allowing both the extracted air and supply air to pass freely over. This allows incoming fresh air to pick up heat transferred from the extracted air before being distributed to the living areas of the property. There is no mixing of air, only transfer of heat. The extracted air is then exhausted to the atmosphere through a wall vent or roof outlet.

Running costs are minimal, with high heat recovery rates of 90% and above. To find out more call RS Ventilation Ltd on

Advantages of
ventilation with
heat recovery include:

  • Increasing comfort and air quality due to constant air renewing. Used oxygen is replaced; the CO2 level remains low. Smells and toxins are removed
  • Humidity is reduced to an ideal level
  • Warmth remains inside the building, pollution and noise stay outside
  • Fresh air from outside is filtered and preheated. Also available with separately available F7-filter to
    remove pollen
  • Substantial reduction of additional heat demand leading to lower heating costs
  • High efficiency levels in returning heat to the building
  • Low levels of house dust, reducing dusting and vacuuming
  • Meets the requirements of EU
    Energy Directive.
  • Supply and installation or supply-only kits for self build.

Heat recovery systems can benefit all types of property, whether new builds or existing premises.

There are a range of heat recovery units to suit all volumes and types of domestic and commercial premises and a wide range of accessories including additional controllers, CO2 sensors and humidity sensors.
